Write. Perform. Educate.
S.P.E.A.K. California aims to help Transitional Aged Youth ages 18-24 develop critical thinking, creative expression and essential life skills by combining spoken word teachings with social justice, mental health practices and lifestyle learning as catalyst for individual and social change.
By providing artistic, social and professional development opportunities for Transitional Aged Youth, especially those exiting state custody or foster care, S.P.E.A.K. aides in the difficult and often traumatic transition from youth to adult for students and community members.
By hosting spoken word events, writing/performance workshops, and creating space and opportunity for youth to challenge and express themselves, S.P.E.A.K. creates a brave space for relationship building and self reflection for the young people we serve.
